Another new week…. and more new sneak peeks at some upcoming stuff your Favorite Catgirl has managed to find lurking waaaay out there on the Internet after hours of diligent searching…. always on the lookout for that next goofy film I won’t be able to live without seeing for my silly lil’ self.
Seems there’s more than just Zombies in this wee Catgirl’s future movie-wise… So let’s get to it and watch some Trailers of “Coming Attractions”…. coming soon (I hope!!) at a cozy Litterbox near you! Hehehehe!! 😉
Let’s see…. first up, a new Chinese horror anthology with what looks to be plenty of creepy ghostly action, “Hong Kong Ghost Stories” a two-part horror movie directed by prolific HK directing legend Wong Jing and Patrick Kong…
What I’ve learned about it so far is that the first part of the movie is a tale about spooky supernatural incidents that occur in a school and the second part is a story of ghostly encounters by a group of friends on vacation. Looks just like the sort of film you just know I’m not gonna wanna pass up!! 😉
Next… it’s off to Turkey where yours truly has finally managed to locate herself a copy of 2010’s 3-D horror fest, “Cehennem 3D”…. with those lovely English subtitles that always make me feel all warm and fuzzy on Movie Nite!! This one’s been out for quite some while… but it’s been absolutely terrible trying to actually find myself a copy. Well… at least one I could confirm had subtitles anyways…. But…. (wait for it…)
😉 Finally it’s mine!! Just in time for the “World Cinema Festival” that I’ve joined too… Yay!! (Well… it will be after the agonizing wait for it to turn up in the mail….)
A little further out… as I’m not even sure yet if they’ve been released in India on DVD… there’s a couple I’m eager to catch. First up “Warning”… which has the look of being another of those freaky ghost possession films that are such a staple of the Hindi film scene. Yep… it’s going on my list.
Then there’s “Ghost”… which… from the Trailer anyway… looks super creepy!! It’s in theaters now over in India, so I figure there will be a bit more of a wait for this one to hit video… but you never know. Films go to video quickly in India so I just might get lucky and be able to score this one early. 😉
Not everything on my list is filled with ghosts and goblins though…. I’m a crazy lil’ dweeb for Martial Art films too and there’s a new one that’s looking mighty good coming from… of all odd places… Vietnam. Called “Thiên mệnh anh hùng” aka “Blood Letter”, it looks like a very well made Martial Art epic… with all the sort of wire-fu magic and forbidden romance I might ever need. Oh yes indeed…. looks like your Favorite Catgirl’s going to have to go shopping in Vietnam….. especially since they’ve also got another film coming along too… more the familiar horror I eat up as a steady diet and a definite “must-see” for me. “Ngôi Nhà Trong Hẻm” aka “House In The Alley”. Check them out and see if you aren’t as excited as this wee lil’ lady….
Ahhhh… and Korea is tempting me too with some period action goodness… it’s the one man “army-of-unstoppable-vengeance” swordplay (or should it be arrow-play?) story “War of Arrows” aka “Bow: The Ultimate Weapon” coming soon to simultaneous release in both Korean region 3 as well as North American region 1 versions. Either way… somebody’s gonna have English subtitles… and I’ll be right there to watch. The story is set during the second Manchu invasion of Korea, and involves Nam Yi (Park Hae Il), the best archer in Korea, as he goes up against nearly the entire army of the Qing Dynasty to save his younger sister Ja In (Moon Chae Won) – who has been dragged away by those evil Manchurian invaders. He’s going to get her back… one deadly arrow at a time. Sounds like “Robin Hood” goes “Crouching Tiger”… and who wouldn’t want to watch something like that? 😉
There are of course a few more on their way… but those are sooooo far down the line that I’ll be keeping them my secret for now. Gotta have something to tempt and tease all of you Gentle Visitors to come back and vist now don’t I? 😉
Till next time…. “Meow, meow for now!”
