So… just when you think that nothing terrible can happen around the Holidays it goes ahead and does…. The dreaded Zombie Outbreak finally arrives. Don’t ya just hate that?
So you say you’ve decked the halls, hung the mistletoe, egged the nog, hung all the stockings with care, and basically done all the right stuff to make for a festive holiday mood around the ol’ homestead this Holiday season. But… has all this “Peace On Earth” and “Goodwill towards Men” made you lose track of all the important… if somewhat unlikely… household tasks that need doing? Like checking the integrity of your barbed wire perimeter? Testing the land mines in the back yard to see they still have what it takes? Seeing that all your various pointy weapons of choice can do more than just carve a juicy holiday turkey? These are important questions after-all…..
Well, your Favorite Catgirl wants to make certain all her Gentle Visitors remember that even now, in this most holly jolly time of the year, it never hurts to be just that wee bit prepared for the onslaught of the walkin’ dead that are just certain to be hiding out there somewhere waiting to strike if years and years of movie watchin’ hasn’t steered me wrong…. Or rotted my lil’ brain and psychologically scarred me for life. (Ummmm? It hasn’t…. right?)
So, for those of you in need of guidance I present another valuable public service film to help sort out those last minute preparations. A nifty “Christmas Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse”.
By all means “Read On”…. Remember, better to be safe than sorry.
Almost the end of the month… and 2011 is just around the corner, but there’s still just enough time for this lil’ Catgirl to squeeze in just a tiny bit more Holiday Cheer before the New Year’s festivities arrive.
Been a quiet month here at the ol’ Litterbox, and your Favorite Catgirl owes you more than a few new Reviews, but as you know by now, I’m often more than a bit flaky about keeping up things when the “Real World” gets hectic and crazy for me. Really, really sorry ’bout that…. honest, Gentle Visitors…… Hopefully I’ll get the chance to do some more new stuff soon…. but probably not until the new year rolls around and lets me breathe again.
Still… I did have some “personal time” over the Holiday, along with a quick trip to Carolyn’s Sister’s place for some “family time”, and I know you all wanna know how my Christmas went, so without further adieu, here’s a peek at what went on for me!
Brrrr!! It’s c-c-c-cold outside!! The snow is really startin’ to pile up here and that can only mean one thing, it’s almost Christmas!
Been sometime since I had the spare moments to collect my thoughts and do a proper Diary update here at the ol’ Litterbox, but given that it’s 4 in the mornin’ and your favorite restless Catgirl is awake and doin’ little or nothing but sitting in the living room watching the seemingly endless snow fall in slow motion from the darkened sky it seemed like just the time to fix that. Firstly… I thought I’d wish everybody the best of luck for their own Holiday season, goodness knows everybody can use all the good cheer they can get these days.
So what’s Neko been up to lately? I wish I could say I’ve been busy kick starting my new career as jet setting cosplay supermodel by day and crime-fighting, zombie killing, international super spy by night….. but unfortunately that’s still merely a personal fantasy daydream of mine at the moment…. Hehehe!!
Nope… as usual, the time right after Thanksgiving leading up to Christmas is a busy time for me work-wise filled with catering, parties at the restaurant, and a general frenzy of trying to figure out how to get it all done while still managing to accommodate everybody’s desire for time off. It normally means that yours truly ends up covering all that extra time and pulling my hair out at the inevitable last minute things that crop up to mess with my own personal plans.
But that’s the boring stuff…. if you want the more “personal” details then you are just gonna have to “Read On”…… (Betcha’ saw that one coming, Hehehehe!!)
December moves along towards Christmas, and as always, your Favorite Catgirl is caught up in the busy “Real World” things that conspire to steal away all my time here at the ol’ Litterbox. Worry not though… I’m still catchin’ the occasional movie, like this time out’s Hindi horror goodie, “Help”. Another recent “Bollywood” ghost story, hopefully with all the necessary scares and chills to go along with the usual “song & dance” I’ve come to expect from our good friends in Mumbai.
Our synopsis goes like this: “Help” is a supernatural horror that draws upon the story of a malevolent spirit that refuses to leave the human world. The story concerns, Vic (Bobby Deol) who is a successful horror film director in Bollywood and is married to Pia (Mugdha Godse). Pia and Vic are having marital problems and in the midst of their troubled marriage, they have to rush Mauritus to visit Pia’s ailing father.
Little do they know that there’s something ancient and dark that remains still, hidden and silent in the old house where Pia grew up. As the darkness spreads, things start to get worse and the spirit tries to annihilate everything. Now Vic and Pia must race against time to find out the secret which will save their lives.”
Mmmmm…. Now Neko likes her ghosts, and lately India has been particularly good to me, so is it hard to guess I’d be excited to get yet another chance to sample the horrors of the Hindi movie scene? Nawww……
The poster and the Trailer looked good… but then the only certain way to find out is to actually watch it… or be lucky enough to have a friendly lil Catgirl like me around to tell ya all about it!!
November has slipped by and December is finally here, but I’m still squeezing in the odd movie review here and there in this busy Holiday season. This time out, another Indonesian horror effort, “Taring” by director Rizal Mantovani of “Kuntilanak” fame.
So, have I got a synopsis? Yep… and it goes sorta like this: “Farah (Fahrani Empel) is a lingerie model and is working for an agency called Heaven’s Secret. One day she receives a work offer with the theme “Wild Fantasy” for photo session in Werenggini, a forest that is located in near a remote village. She gladly receives the offer as she desperately needs the money for medical treatment for her sick mother.
Together she heads to the forest with two friends and fellow models; Wiwid (Shinta Bachir) and Gabriella (Rebecca Reidjman) for the photo session. Following them are Alex (Meidian Maladi), the reprensentative from the agency, together with photographer, Iyan (Dallas Pratama) and his sister Inngrid (Reynavenska).
Upon their arrival at the entrance of Werenggini Forest, the local residents advise them not to enter as the mythical “forest keepers”, who are evil by nature, are seeking sacrifices in human lives. However, the stubborn Alex insists on proceeding with the photo session inside the dark forest despite the warnings.
When dusk falls each members of the group begin to disappear mysteriously from the remote forest, their lives being taken by the “forest keepers”. What is to be the ultimate fate for Farah and her friends? Will any of them survive the night and escape from Werenggini Forest alive in the end?”
Oooohh!! Forest Demons!! Neko’s all over this one! Hopefully Rizal will score well for me this time out, although he’s gonna have to work at it pretty hard to equal the creepy enjoyment “Kuntilanak” brought this lil’ Catgirl. So break out the wine coolers and settle in and your Favorite Catgirl Movie Princess is gonna tell you all the gory details!!
