Boooo!!! It’s the beginning of Week 2 of 2010’s month-long Halloween Celebrations for your Favorite Catgirl Princess and as always, I’m feelin’ the excitement build as the days pass on their inevitable march towards the big day. Ever since I was a kid, this has to be my favorite holiday… and today it’s one of the few times I can let that lil’ girl still hiding deep inside me out to play… even if it’s just for one night.
Carolyn is even getting excited too…. although she’s far too mature to admit it. How do I know? Well…. thinking she was being coy and disinterested about it, she finally had to casually ask me last Saturday, “So… you’re gonna want to go out for Halloween again this year, right? What sort of costume are you going to inflict upon me this time out?” She said it with a smile…. and, unable to keep up feigning annoyance, she continued along with, “Ok, ok…. I’ll admit it was fun last year, but if you tell anybody I said so, I’ll completely deny it. I mean, I’m a grown woman and all…. so is it my fault my girlfriend is such a total geek? Miyu… you’re just soooo darn lucky I’m utterly infatuated with your adorably goofy little butt or I’d never put up with such foolishness. But…. you aren’t going to do anything as crazy as painting yourself green again are you?”
♥♥Ahhhh…. she loves me!! ♥♥ (All part of my cunning cosplay plan….. Honestly!! Hehehehe!!)
I quickly assured her that body painting wasn’t on the agenda for this time out… (Truthfully, it was a bit of a pain in the butt, although the results were worth the effort…). Nope…. For one thing, I never repeat a costume from one Halloween to the next. It’s just one of my crazy rules…. and it lets me get all creative every year thinking up something new to try. So what’s the plan for this time out? Guess you’ll have to “Read On” if you wanna find out!!
For me… the fun of cosplay has always been as much about the planning of a great costume as the chance to actually wear it and have people go: “Wow!!…”. Costuming for myself has always been easy… just pick a favorite character or look and go for it… but costuming for two is a bit harder… You really need to think of a decent “theme” to tie it all together and make you look like a “couple” instead of two individuals who happened to “run into one another” at a party. I’ve been wracking my lil’ brain for a few weeks now, trying to think up just the perfect idea, when… out of the blue… my friend Samantha asked me at work the other day: “What’s the plan for Halloween this year Miyuki? I loved yours and Carolyn’s costumes last year… It made me so jealous that I couldn’t be a slave girl too.” Until that moment… I hadn’t acutally hit on a plan… but suddenly the perfect one popped into my head, thanks to Sam’s casual comment (and TCM’s Hammer Film festival that I’d watched just the night before).
“The Brides of Dracula”…. Just the perfect theme for three women looking for a bit of naughty and sexy Halloween “dress-up” fun. It wasn’t hard to convince Sam to get in on this and help me pull it all together…. and it’ll be just the perfect surprise for Carolyn too!! Luckily, I’ve plenty of nice stuff already in my “costume trunk” that’ll be perfect for this…. and naturally it’ll be fun shopping for a few more choice items to make it complete.
So, along with pulling together another Review this afternoon for “Zombie Women of Satan”, I’m going to be scouring the Internet for pictures and inspiration…. along with shopping for some stuff, of course. I’m having fun already just thinkin’ about it!!
Not to worry…. It might all be a secret for my sweetie, but I’ll certainly be back to update all of you, my Gentle Visitors, as it comes together. Till then, pleasant Halloween wishes for you all and “Meow, meow for now!!”
