Mmmmm….. The days are certainly getting warm again as April creeps up upon us. Daylight savings time has gone into effect and my annual bout of Seasonal Insomnia now has me prowling about the apartment late at night, full of restless energy…….
I know…. it’s been a while since your Favorite Catgirl let you all in on what she’s been up to, but February (and then March too…) just seemed to whiz right by me. I’ve a few days off from work, so I figured it was time to do another “Diary” update just to sate your insatiable curiosity regarding all things “Nekolishous”.
(I just know all you gentle visitors have been anxiously awaiting another helping of my latest personal tidbits….. So who am I to keep you in the dark? Hehehehe!!)
Have I been busy at work since last time out? Is there anything new and exciting to report? So……. has Neko been a good lil’ kitten or a naughty lil’ vixen these last couple of months? Hmmmm?
Guess there’s really only one thing for you to do if not knowing has kept you awake nights too…. and you all know by now that’s to “Read On!!” and find out.
Wow!! I can’t believe how much things have conspired to keep me busy these last couple of months….. so what stuff is there to tell you all about? Lets see…. Ooohh!! That’s right!! I haven’t had a chance to tell you guys about Valentines Day!
As you know, the girls at work booked me a Romantic overnight reservation for two at a posh hotel in the city….. Now, you know the type we’re talkin’ about…. (Wink, wink….) with a fancy dinner for two, some decadently sensuous spa access, and that ever so naughty private suite with the hot tub, champagne, roses on the pillows and chocolate kisses on the nightstands. Yep… that’s the one. We did actually go for it, Carolyn and I, although I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Even a year together hasn’t managed to completely erase my shyness about our relationship being “public”. For me, it’s always been easier to relax around strangers when we want to be a little flirtatious…. I don’t know why that is, it just works that way.
Given how busy Valentines Day is at my restaurant, I sorta felt bad about taking the time away, but Samantha had certainly worked overtime convincing the rest of the kitchen crew that a happy, contented Miyuki could only be a good thing for them in the long term at work…. Who knew she could be such a talented negotiator? Given that, I really couldn’t come up with a good excuse not to go….. That, and I really, really…. really.. wanted to show Carolyn a nice time, given how awkward our first Valentine’s Day together went last year… something I still feel bad about at times.
We had a fun drive down to the city, got there early enough to check in and then spend the afternoon shopping and goofing around together. It was fun…. a lot more fun than I would have guessed, my initial uneasiness fading away until I realized we were actually laughing, holding hands and cuddling against the cold wind while window shopping just like any couple lost in the silly intoxication of love might do. Nobody even gave a second glance at us… or if they did, I never even noticed…. Even the hotel staff seemed completely unfazed by the two women who turned up for a night in the special Valentines suite. (Although I think we were a bit of a novelty for the Spa staff when we both turned up for the full pampering treatment…. I think they were expecting only a single lady…. but no!! Massages, manicures, pedicures and mud baths for two please!! Hehehe!!!)
Yes…. we finally did get around to using that Hot tub too. Given that my lil’ apartment only has a tiny shower, Carolyn and I have never bathed together since we became lovers…. Ummmm? Well…. Let’s just say that it was sudsy, warm, and a great place to drink the complementary champagne while getting my back washed…. (OK…ok… I will say that somehow we manged to both get clean and very, very dirty all at the same time, Hehehe!!)
All in all, I have to say, it was a nice relaxing time together….. Late that night, all sleepy and satisfied, I couldn’t resist asking Carolyn if this was more the sort of Valentines Day she’d wanted for last year. Then she slipped in close and whispered to me that it was perfect…. more than she had ever dreamed it could be. I felt her tears on my cheek, and couldn’t stop myself from tearing up too a little, my heart aching for her while we cuddled closer in that pure moment of shared love. If I ever wondered exactly how much she felt for me, that just about showed it all.
Following that wonderful getaway, things settled back to the day to day routine we’ve been stuck with since the beginning of the year. Our work schedules have made weekends just about impossible beyond seeing each other in passing. We do get evenings during the week to do things, and that tends to be good for us, but it means I’ve spent far less time watching films these weeks. (Well…. at least for watching films that would fit in here at the ol’ Litterbox…. Unless I start a category for “Mainstream Chick Flicks” that is…. It seems my view of Carolyn’s movie choices mirror her opinions of mine, so apparently we are perfect for each other!!…..Hehehe!!)
A good example of how much our lives are becoming entangled with each other’s is now right here in front of me. Carolyn now has her own new desktop computer!! Given the size of our lil’ place, I was up to me to figure out how to squeeze it next to mine and wire it up with a KVM switch…. so now she has her own place to surf and email without worrying about messing up my system. (I told her…. my computer was her computer, but she’s always worried that she’d get a virus from an email or something and mess things up for me. She wont even surf the web on her laptop given that it’s actually owned by the College and is for her to use at work….. darn trustworthy responsible person that she is!!)
The flu made a dent in personnel at both my restaurant as well as Carolyn’s department at the College throughout the end of February and into the beginning of March. Unusual for this lil’ Catgirl, I actually dodged the bug this time out, although it caught up with Carolyn and put her in bed for a good three days. I was able to adjust my hours to be home and nurse her through the worst of it, running to the store for medicine and Kleenex and generally being there when she felt to crappy to even get out of bed for water or food. Thank goodness March has been pretty warm and dry here for the most part… That probably kept me from catching it too.
But…… That warm weather comes with a price. Ever since I was a wee lil’ kitten, that change of seasons has always triggered a nasty case of Insomnia for me, usually lasting a couple of weeks till the weather makes up it’s mind to become Spring. This year, it’s struck with a vengeance. I’m antsy and wired and filled with a restless energy that has me tossing and turning at night till I finally get driven to give up and just get up and do something. That used to be merely a pain in Goober’s fuzzy lil’ butt, but this year it’s become Carolyn’s problem too. I used to stay up watching movies or even doing aerobics to tire myself out, but that’s just a wee bit tooooo noisy for me to do when she needs her sleep. What’s a crazy sleep deprived kitten to do?
Well… thank goodness there’s always the internet. I spend a lot of my time surfing, tracking down films, finding image files to play about with in my image suite. (Delirium Vault has certain benefited from my restless energy… as I’ve whipped up more than a few new banners for the site…..) Ahhh... and there’s always my Mp3 player…. (although if anybody were to peek in my windows at night they might wonder about the seemingly nutty Asian woman dancing around her living room in the dark….) If I weren’t so paranoid about whatever other strangers were awake at these hours, there’s always all night shopping at Walmart….. Well, at least the apartment has never been cleaner these days….. so I guess it’s all good.
Anyway…. March itself is gone now, April rearing it’s head with a promise of flowers and days of warm breezes. Hopefully it’ll be kind and gentle to your Favorite Catgirl and give me more time to post more regularly. I’ve plenty of new DVD’s to paw through and I know you regular visitors here at the Litterbox will wanna hear all about them. I hope this longer than usual Diary posting will keep you all informed, content, and happy till next time I feel the overwhelming need to dish about my silly life….. Till then, I hope this new-found Spring finds you all well and happy and as lucky in life and love as I’ve been.
And…. as always, “Meow, meow for now!!”
