Hehehehe…… your favorite lil’ Catgirl has been watching those goofy Indonesian DVD’s again……. and this time out it’s the creepy Ghost/ Horror film, “The Wall”, submitted for your approval!!
The synopsis goes somethin’ like this: “The Wall stories about making of a movie at a frightening villa. Sabrina (Nessa Sadin), a gothic writer trying to write the script at the villa to find the scary moments. Unfortunately, many strange incidents happened in the villa. The crews one by one killed mysteriously. The main talents: Fathan (Rifky Balweel) and Mischa (Deriell Jaqueline) feel threatened. During the tension, Fathans ex-girlfriend, Olla (Safira) shows up. Mischa feels jealous to her. Triangle love conflict appear among them. The production becomes mess. All crews choose to escape from being terrorism victims. Why the villa threatening everyone? Who’s behind it?”
Sound good? Well then… by all means, “Read On”!!
Ahhhh… gotta love those silly “engrish” translations….Anyway, this one is pretty much the standard ghost story. You know, poor, yet lovely girl gets murdered by his dad (crossbow bolt to the ol’ noggin’), “loving” boyfriend knuckles under to bigoted dad and covers up murder…. ghost needs serious karma balancing revenge, and so on….. pretty standard fare.
The DVD was spartan, but came with a “music video” making of feature and some Trailers, (one for another goose pimpler that I’m on the lookout for “Suster N” another of those crawling crippled ghost nurse movies) But the most annoying thing with this one was a strange de-sychonization of the subtitles about 46 minutes into the film. .OH NO!!!
Yep…. at the beginning of the 10th chapter, the subtitles, which were fine up till then, suddenly started getting delayed by 6 seconds for the rest of the film. Thankfully, this lil’ catgirl can rip and fix such problems fairly easily, but it was annoying to have to do so……. and this one definitely wasn’t worth your efforts unless you reeeeaally like crazy-bad Indonesian Horror films like me.
Neko gives this one her standard 3 “Meows” out of 5 for doin’ the whole ghosty thingee I love, but I’m gonna throw in a couple of hissses for the naughty subtitles. I’d have dock them a whole Meow, but at least this was a DVD (rare these days out of Indonesia) and it did have accurate english translated subs, even if they were out of sync. That oughtta be worth something….. Here’s to hoping you also “find the scary moments”.
And naturally, I managed to find ya a Trailer…… you will commence watch much now!!
